Fear Street is a teenage horror series written by R. L. Stine. I was a big fan of Goosebumps and moved to these temporarily before discovering K. A. Applegates’ Animorphs, which became my obsession around seventh grade. A huge fan of horror, I’m disappointed I didn’t read all of these when I was younger, so I’m amending that now.
My plan is to read every Fear Street book and review them here. This is quite a project because there are a ton of Fear Street books including various sagas and spinoffs, but I enjoy them a lot and find writing about them fun, so I’m up to the challenge!
These books are a lot of fun, but they are not without faults. Their faults and imperfections are part of the appeal to me, however, so I rate them only against each other and don’t hold them to the same standards I would other novels and literature.
My rules for reading and reviewing any R. L. Stine book are as follows:
- Do not expect everything to make sense.
- Do not look for literary elements.
- Sit back and enjoy the ride.
Reviews listed here are in order of book number, but I am jumping all around while reading and reviewing. If you wish to read my reviews in the order I read and reviewed the books, check out my Fear Street tag. Most recent reviews are at the beginning.
